Our Mission/Vision
The core mission of the physical education department is to encourage inquiry, provide hands-on learning opportunities, and support personal growth for students. Students learn how to use the scientific method to better their physical health and general curiosity towards the world. Students lead by communicating and overcoming obstacles together in group projects and in teams on the playing field. Students serve through taking care of the athletic facilities at Merit.
Enrichment Opportunities
Our physical education and health classes have connections to our athletic programs and HOPE Squad at Merit Academy. Students can get P.E. credit by participating in a team sport or dance team at Merit. They can be involved in service and mental health awareness through the construct on HOPE Squad, led by our counselors. 7-12 grade.

We also offer a number of extracurricular athletic opportunities for students
