MERIT ACADEMY ANNOUNCES THE ADDITION OF 7^TH AND 8^TH GRADES.

Merit Academy in Springville now has a very unique middle school program designed for parents that want multiple options for the education of their children.

Our INNOVATIVE solution is an “Early High School” program that provides multiple coursework options. It will allow you to INDIVIDUALIZE your educational experience to your unique needs through a variety of coursework options.

“Early High School” means your 7^th or 8^th grade student can take high school classes as they are ready, such as Algebra 1 or Geometry or 9^th grade English/History and even some high school electives.

WHAT IS THE VALUE OF THIS CHANGE

Expanding to grades 7-12 will fulfill community needs as follows:

1. It will provide a greater educational opportunity to our community through more choices of innovative programs and curriculum options. We have had a tremendous response from parents throughout our community. They are interested in our innovative and individualized educational program and were strongly requesting that we add 7 and 8^th grades to our school.

2. It will provide a more effective and consistent learning model. Preparing students for college is very challenging if they are not prepared for high school. We feel we can better prepare our students for college by starting college prep and accelerated programs for students in the 7^th and 8^th grades and providing consistent academic structure and programs for 6 years, including the option of obtaining a college associate degree while in high school.
